Webdesign Contest
Who?
Roomsurfer is a brand new startup. It is based in Berlin and its goal is to help people worldwide to experience a new and very social way of travelling. Roomsurfer connects guests and hosts for a completely new experience. I’s not just another booking website. Roomsurfer wants to encourage people to find the perfect place within their budget, make new acquaintanceships and benefit from having a great deal in common. The focus group is between 18 and 30 years old, has a tertiary education and is not afraid to use social media. They love to connect and discover.
What?
Because Roomsurfer is a very, very young startup idea, with a teeny-tiny team, it does need your help here. We want to ask all ambitious designers out there to design our »home« for roomsurfer.com. That‘s it.
The home page is of course the entry point for almost every new visitor. It‘s supposed to give the user an instant idea of the key benefits and convert him / her to be a guest or host.
That‘s why we would like to have a web design that matches the following criteria:
- slick and simple look and feel
- reduced use of colour – we want pictures (mood shots) to tell our story
- the colour of our logo (#B1059D) shall be used for „call to actions“
- sharing possibilities where it makes sense
How?

What we ask for to enter the contest is simple. A psd file with your visual idea send to us until August 18, 2011 at 6pm CEST.
Prizes!
Of course, we are not able to pay each and every entry. But to show you that we don‘t want cheap pitches of creativity, with us just picking and paying the designer we liked the most, here is the special deal:
The 1st prize will be 500€ (that‘s about $700). And hey, the winner is of course our first choice for the whole website :)
But the 2nd place will receive 300€ and there is another 200€ for the 3rd too!
The winners will be announced via email, Twitter, Facebook and this blog. We are the judging panel. As a matter of course, any recourse to courts of law is excluded.
